会社の商号中に、かっこ（）は、使えない。”()” (brackets) cannot be used for the trade name

韓国の法人が、日本に営業所を設置するので外国会社の登記のご依頼を受けた。クライアントから提供された韓国の当該会社の商業登記簿謄本には、商号中に「（）」（かっこ）が使われている。

　　　　　　　　株式会社ビーツービー（BTB）

日本の商業登記では、「（）」（かっこ）を商号中に使用することはできない。たとえ申請人が、「（BTB）」も自己の会社名の一部であると認識していても「（）」（かっこ）を使用して登記をすることができない。自分の名前の一部を否定される（削られる）ようだがやむを得ない。登記するとすれば、次の選択肢が考えられようか。

We received a request from a foreign company for a foreign company registration with the Japanese Legal Affairs Bureau. The certified copy of the commercial register of the said company in its mother country uses “()” (brackets) in the trade name like an example below.

　　　　　　　　Business to Business Corporation (BTB).

In the Japanese commercial register, “()” (brackets) cannot be used for the trade name. Even if “(BTB)” consists of a part of the company name, “()” (brackets) cannot be used in the registration.  As a result, there would remain the following options.

　　　　　　　　Option 1: Business to Business Corporation

　　　　　　　　Option 2: Business to Business Corporation・BTB

“(BTB)” can be omitted or “・” can be used instead.
